London 2012 – Hockey with BLHC 4th August 2012

The hockey club that my wife plays for, Bosworth Ladies, managed to get 20 tickets to the morning session of the Olympic Hockey on 4th August.  I was very pleased and fortunate to be invited along as it wasn’t really a partners outing.  We had a fantastic day despite not seeing Team GB play.  Our matches were both ladies matches, Australia 1-0 South Africa and The Nederland’s 3 – 2 Korea.  I was quite happy as The Netherlands are quite an attractive team…  As the first match started at 8:30AM we were done by about lunchtime so spent the rest of the afternoon walking around the Olympic park, soaking up the atmosphere.  It was unfortunate that we couldn’t get any tickets to something in the afternoon but it was still a great experience just being there seeing the support for Team GB.  I was very impressed with the whole thing.  Food and drink prices being my only gripe.  Aside from that the park was clean and tidy, all of the volunteers, staff, police and forces were friendly and enthusiastic plus there was enough going on to keep you entertained between events.  We should all be very proud.
